Personally, I really like this place. Huge portions, friendly staff and great food. I can easily order two starters and be well catered for... Which means space for dessert!
I have always known to to be clean and the old fashioned beams and variety of furniture makes this place cosy and really quite easy to settle down in for a meal.
The only downside is that is is very popular which can mean a wait for a table and having to go elsewhere. -

Sadly our dealings with this establishment are all negative. 4 of us wanted a night out to celebrate a wedding anniversary and a 65 Birthday. Due to the very unreasonable attitude of the waitress we had to leave. .2 of the party are disabled and although we had not ordered yet when a table which would prove easier for the disabled in our party, we wanted to move. The shouting, abusive attitude was mind blowing. All we wanted to do was move our disabled to a quieter easier access table. It is incredible in this day and age that the waitress could not have helped us out or at least spoken quietly to us. We felt humiliated and had no choice but to go elsewhere. Sadly I do not recommend this establishment. Management need to sort this problem waitress out or else you may lose more customers in the future.

The owner of the Oakwood/Manager is a horrible and rude man and I would never go there again. My nan went there today and had to wait an hour and a half for her food (while other customers came and went) finally she gets served and its the wrong food, the waitress comes back and said sorry she forgot to put the order though and comes back when the food is cooked and apologised and offered a free drink (nice of the waitress) but my nan was so tired and upset by this point she wasn't hungry and left her food and what was left of her drink and they still made her pay. And when I went back later to calmly talk to the manager he was so rude and called her a liar and said she cant have a refund. So I left maybe mentioning he should have some respect for his customers.
